Uranus was only discovered in 1781, although with up to 5.5m it can be seen even with the naked eye – if you know exactly where to look. In binoculars, it appears only as a faded blue-green little star and in the telescope it appears as a small, flat disk without any more details. Even spacecraft images show only its uniform cloud cover. So the most interesting thing about Uranus is to find it – use a good star map for this task.
