The 54 mile (87 km) wide crater Atlas forms a beautiful couple with Hercules (43 mile – 70 km diameter) in the west. In the center of Atlas is small central mass with several peaks.
Hercules has a very dark floor and distinctive walls. A younger crater with just 9 miles (14 km) diameter is located in its center.
