In the center of a conspicuous and extensive system of rays is the 53 mile (85 km) wide crater, which is one of the youngest lunar craters. It was formed by the impact of a 16 mile (10 km) wide meteorite about 109 million years ago. The system of rays consists of rocks and dust that was ejected during the impact and extends up to 930 miles (1500 km) away. The crater walls are up to 5250 yards (4800 m) high.
