There is a 27 to 50 mile (43 × 80 km) large, bright area between the craters Kepler and Hevelius, but we don‘t know about its nature. The position of the Sun doesn‘t affect its appearance and shows no shadows. So, it must be on the same level as the surrounding area. It also has a measurable magnetic field.
